Tea culture and the finger-tap thank-you
✅ Updated May 2026
Tea is a gesture of hospitality and respect. When someone pours tea for you, gently tap two fingers on the table to say thank you without interrupting the conversation. Receive the cup with both hands. In gongfu tea, small cups are refilled often, and a topped-up cup is a sign you are welcome to stay.
